I created a photo report of International Film Festival 2015, a.k.a. IFFR 2015. All pictures were created in the so-called cinematic photography style, which means I edited the pictures in a 2,4:1 aspect ratio. In order to add to the atmosphere of the festival in Rotterdam I edited the pictures in black and white, as if they are film stills of old black and white movies.
The description of Vers Beton about this photo report: “The international Film Festival Rotterdam gets many visitors to Rotterdam this week. Photographer Rosanne Dubbeld made a photo report of the festival. When you spent a few days in the movie theaters of IFFR you can get the feeling everything changes into a film set.“
For the cinematic style I’d like to credit photographer Jeff Krol, who I was able to meet in december of 2014 during a session of street photography. His work got me interested in this form of photography. Because the style of cinematic photography fitted the subject of this specific photo series so well, I took it as a change to experiment with this kind of photography.
